Disney Races - What To Wear?

Guest Author: Kristin R. | Deluxe Travel Consultants

Hi friends!  I can’t believe that summer is here and before we know it, it will my race at Disney for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon!!  That means I get to reveal my plans for my running outfit for the race!  It’s one of my favorite things about getting to run at Disney!  I mean, Disney races are what I do!!!  I don’t even really no how to run a race out of costume, do you?

Wine and Dine weekend in my opinion is geared more to the adult crowd.  While many of the other races have lots of fairy tale character runners, this race seems to have more costumes based around drinking and eating…who would have guessed ;)  There are still a ton of fun characters, especially those associated with the Wine and Dine festival like Remy from Ratatouille or Belle and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

I tend to do a non character outfit for Wine and Dine.  I like wine, so last year it was this tank, “Run Now, Wine Later,” with a cute polka dot skirt.  This year, I’m going to be wearing this “Wine, Wine, Wine,” tank with a gold skirt.  Still Disney themed and fun!  Even if you don’t drink, you can still run the race and choose an outfit to have an amazing time!  I love this race because it seems to me there are more serious runners racing…for a Disney race that is!  So, the speed is a little faster and less congested in my opinion.

I would encourage you to be as creative as you want for any Disney race!  There is no right way to dress!  That’s what I love about Disney is that everyone can be themselves and have fun!  I’ve even seen where people mixed two characters to create one!  It’s all about feeling the Disney magic, being comfortable and enjoying every minute of your race! And I have to end with my favorite costume I’ve seen at a Disney race…the Monorail Family!  They even had a speaker that when they passed people said in the exact voice recording “Please stand clear of the doors.  Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas.”

If you’ll be there, let me know, I’d like to say hi!
